In CMK 3.0 the attendance record did not show dates and check boxes. This has been fixed.
A new “Enter Attendance Dates” layout has been added to support the “Attendance Record” layout.
The “Edit Ministry List” button in the “Church Information” layout now functions properly.
Importing Data Into Church Membership Keeper 3
Importing into Church Membership Keeper ( and FMPro) is easy.
1a) To imprt from a file other than CMK (any version) you need to save the old file in tab-delimited fields with a return between each record. It is helpful to include a mail merge header as the first record in the file because it makes lining up fields easier later in the import.
1b) To import from your old CMK version rename it "Old CMK" and hit the "Import From Old CMK" button in the opening CMK 3 screen. Answer the questions in the dialog that pops up. If the file imports correctly skip items 2-6.
2) Open Church Membership Keeper and under the File menu choose Import/Export and select Import Records.
3) In the open window that pops up choose the text file containing your data. A new import window will open up containing CMK 3's fields on the left side and the import data's fields on the right side.
4) Between the two field columns is a column with checks and blank lines. The checks indicate the data that will be imported into the CMK field from the data field. By clicking on the spaces you can turn the checks on or off.
5) You should match up the fields by clicking and dragging the fields on the right to match the fields on the left. Then make sure that you have checks by all of the fields you want to import into CMK and that the other fields are turned off.
6) Hit the import button. You will get a dialog box asking if you want to keep or replace certain information. That is totally up to you.
Once the import is complete CMK should have your old information in matching fields in new records. You can delete the mail merge record.
Your import should be complete. If something imported improperly you can either delete all of the imported files (the long hard route) or save CMK as a cloned record and start over again. Remember to delete the old CMK and rename the cloned file to Church Membership Keeper.
